Erin Andreasen: Why I Rebuild
Hi! My name is Erin Andreasen. I was introduced to the Rebuild for Peace program as part of a class I was taking, and I am so glad that I have had the opportunity to help them out and learn more about what they do. I have been thinking a lot lately about how people across the world are so incredibly different and face so many challenges and hardships in their lives. I think that it’s important to take some time out of our own lives to help those who might have it worse than us, and that is one of the reasons that I Rebuild for Peace. I support this program because I know it does a tremendous amount of good for the people over in Jordan, and although I have never been to Jordan myself, I know that this help is needed.
One of the things that I love most about Rebuild for Peace is that they provide training to youth in at-risk areas so that they can get a better education, a job, and know that peace is possible. I believe that the most important thing we can do for other people is share our knowledge that has helped us out in our own lives and will be able to help them in their lives, so training these youths in Jordan is, in my opinion, one of the most effective and helpful things that anyone could do for them.
I Rebuild for Peace because I know that every individual in the world can make a difference in someone else’s life, and I hope that my own and everyone else’s efforts to Rebuild for Peace in Jordan will have a positive and peaceful influence in the lives of the people who live there.
Erin studies in Hawaii and worked over the last semester as a Social Media Coordinator.
